Roxana Buzoiu, a content creator with around 800,000 followers on TikTok and nearly 400,000 on Instagram, has come to the defense of FCSB player Octavian Popescu, 23, following his recent performance.
In last night’s match against FC Botoșani, Popescu started on the bench and was substituted in during the 83rd minute. Despite limited playing time, he made a crucial impact by assisting Daniel Bîrligea for the winning goal in the 90+6 minute, securing a 3-2 victory.
At 32 years old, Buzoiu is a passionate supporter of FCSB and has cultivated a substantial online presence on TikTok and Instagram, amassing over a million followers across both platforms.
Buzoiu’s Comments on Popescu’s Situation: “Some Fans Shouldn’t Be in the Stands”
After the game, Popescu expressed his dissatisfaction with being benched, claiming he deserves a spot in the starting lineup. In response to the criticism aimed at the players from some fans this season, Buzoiu felt compelled to defend Popescu through a TikTok post.
In her message, she stated, “A talented footballer who is not allowed to show his true potential. Appreciated? Not even 1%. To put him in for just the last 10 minutes, for him to navigate past several players, and to assist a goal without receiving a single word of praise is disheartening. Fans shout insults during losses but celebrate victories as if nothing happened. Some supporters have no business in the stands; they demoralize and fail to recognize the players’ true value,” she expressed.
Buzoiu’s support for Popescu is not a one-time occurrence. Back in May, she filmed him during another match against FC Botoșani, remarking, “God, who is this handsome man?”.
Beyond her social media efforts, Buzoiu’s online fame has led to appearances on television shows like “Tempting Fortune Romania” and “The Power of Love.”
