A remarkable culinary achievement occurred in Ukraine, where chefs have prepared an unprecedented portion of goulash weighing over three tons. The previous record stood at 2.85 tons, set in Zakarpattia in 2015.
The world record certificate was awarded to Andrii Balabukh, the initiator of this massive cooking endeavor. Balabukh mentioned that his previous experiences with goulash involved using pots of 300 to 500 liters in capacity.
Goulash prepared by over 20 people
For this record-setting portion, approximately 600 kg of meat (beef and pork) was used, along with 100 kg of fat, 500 kg of potatoes, 100 kg of carrots, 160 kg of onions, as well as red pepper, herbs, and other ingredients. Balabukh believes this quantity is enough to serve more than 7,000 portions.
Preparation involved the efforts of more than 20 people who helped gather and prepare the ingredients for the goulash.
Prior to the official recording of the achievement, representatives from the National Register of Records of Ukraine weighed the goulash and verified all the components used.
“No one in the world has prepared goulash in such large volumes before,” stated representative Vietrova, emphasizing the uniqueness of the accomplishment.
