Damage to warehouses in the Moscow region
The Moscow region was struck by a drone attack involving at least 600 aerial vehicles, with officials confirming that 201 were intercepted within the vicinity. Emergency services are responding to incidents related to debris fallout.
Three people sustained injuries as a result of the assaults near the MKAD, although Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin did not mention any casualties in his reports. According to Russian news sources, including Astra and the anonymous channel “VChK-OGPU,” the warehouses of Wildberries in Domodedovo and Koledino were among the primary targets, with one identified as the largest in the area, covering 250,000 square meters.
Monitoring group Exilenova+ also reported fires at both logistics centers in the Moscow region. They shared footage showing thick plumes of black smoke rising from the warehouses, with some videos reportedly captured by Ministry of Emergency Situations personnel.
Since mid-July, Wildberries logistics sites have faced frequent drone attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on July 18 that the affected warehouses held components for drones and navigation equipment that fall under sanctions. Denis Shtilerman, co-founder of Fire Point, mentioned in a July 27 interview that Wildberries is the largest borrower in Russia, warning that its potential bankruptcy could lead to the collapse of several banks, including VTB.
A report from The Moscow Times on August 12 indicated that losses for Wildberries due to the drone strikes could be comparable to the annual budgets of the wealthiest regions in Russia.
