A powerful earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale struck the Indonesian island of Sumatra on Saturday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). This event occurred just hours after the country experienced another earthquake that resulted in numerous casualties, as reported by AFP. The epicenter of this latest quake was identified by USGS in Pematangsiantar.
