Widespread Blackout Hits Central Asia Leaving Millions Without Power

A widespread blackout has struck multiple countries in Central Asia, leaving numerous cities without power. Cities such as Almaty in Kazakhstan, Dushanbe in Tajikistan, Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, and various regions in Uzbekistan experienced outages. The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan indicated that the disruption was caused by a “sudden change in the flow of electricity” within the Central Asian power grid.
