Paris Saint-Germain has reached a preliminary agreement to acquire 23-year-old Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki from Parma for a fee of €35 million, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Suzuki, who participated in the 2026 World Cup with Japan, is expected to join the European champions as they look toward the future.
Currently valued at €30 million on Transfermarkt, Suzuki has garnered interest from Juventus, which is in search of a starting goalkeeper after expressing dissatisfaction with Michele Di Gregorio. However, Parma accepted PSG’s offer, which outpaced that of the Serie A rivals.
Reports indicate that PSG considers loaning Suzuki back to a Serie A club to ensure he receives regular playing time during the 2026-2027 season. Juventus is expected to make a decision soon regarding the goalkeeper, who is among their primary targets.
Parma to See 327% Profit from Suzuki’s Sale to PSG
Parma is set to realize a significant profit from the sale of Suzuki, having acquired him in July 2024 from St. Truiden for only €8.2 million. The club will earn a profit exceeding 327% from this transaction, as the €35 million package from PSG is finalized. Although PSG initially appears not to want to retain Suzuki for the upcoming season, they are exploring loan options.
In addition to the goalkeeper transfer, Parma is also nearing a deal to sell its top scorer, Mateo Pellegrino, to Fiorentina. Pellegrino, who scored nine goals in 37 appearances last season, has reached a total agreement with Fiorentina. The Italian press reports a potential offer of €20 million, which Parma may accept, despite previously asking for €30 million, which included €5 million for a loan and the rest as an obligation to purchase after one year.
Parma acquired Pellegrino from Velez Sarsfield in February 2025 for €1.64 million, along with 50% of the proceeds from any future sale, indicating that the club would also gain a profit from the 24-year-old forward’s potential transfer to Fiorentina.
