Mihai Lixandru, 25, has officially departed from FCSB as the club confirmed his transfer to Al Fateh in Saudi Arabia. The transfer fee for Lixandru amounts to €600,000.
In a touching message shared on social media, Lixandru expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him during his nine-year tenure at the club.
A product of FCSB’s academy, Lixandru transitioned to the first team after loan spells at Viitorul Târgu Jiu, Gaz Metan Mediaș, and CS Mioveni. During his time with the red-and-blues, he celebrated two league championships and two Romanian Supercup victories.

In his Instagram post, Lixandru thanked coaches, teammates, and fans, hinting at a desire to return to the club that nurtured his talent.
“After nine years filled with unforgettable memories, the time has come for me to say goodbye to the club that has shaped and helped me grow as a player. I want to start by thanking everyone at the @fcsbacademyofficial staff who played a vital role in my development as a professional player.
Since joining the first team, all the staff and my teammates made me feel like part of a family. We shared extraordinary moments, worked hard for every goal, and had the joy of winning two league titles and two Supercups, achievements that will always hold a special place in my heart.
I can only thank you and hope that one day our paths will cross again. Thank you, FCSB, for everything! I wish you all the best and hope you bring joy to millions of supporters once more, as they truly deserve it. Respectfully yours, Lix!” Lixandru wrote on social media.
Rated at €900,000 by Transfermarkt, Lixandru had a contract with FCSB until the summer of 2029. However, according to Gigi Becali, he was no longer part of the team’s plans, leading to an earlier decision for his transfer.
