Stjepan Tomas Reflects on Oțelul’s 1-1 Draw Against Dinamo

Oțelul Galați and Dinamo ended their match in a 1-1 draw during the third round of the Superliga. Following the game, Stjepan Tomas, the head coach of Oțelul, expressed satisfaction with his team’s response in the second half, describing the result as fair.
The match saw Dinamo take the lead in the 42nd minute through Alberto Soro, but Oțelul equalized in the 66th minute with a goal from Patrick.
Stjepan Tomas: “We Played Against an Excellent Team”
Tomas acknowledged the challenge posed by Dinamo, saying, “First and foremost, we played against an excellent team, Dinamo. I was very pleased with how we started the match, displaying the right spirit. We defended well, applying high pressing at times, while in other moments we opted for deeper defending and aimed for quick transitions because we knew Dinamo is a valuable team when they have the ball.
Unfortunately, we conceded a goal in the first half, but I was very pleased with our attitude and response in the second half. We controlled the game, dominated, and ultimately managed to equalize. Overall, I am satisfied with the team and the mentality they showcased.”
“The Result is Fair”
The Oțelul coach elaborated that the team’s good physical condition made a difference after halftime and discussed Patrick’s goal-scoring play.
“We had an excellent rhythm, and the result is fair. We possess very good physical conditioning and knew we would play with higher intensity in the second half. We prepared very well and were confident we could change the course of the match. In the end, we scored exactly as we intended. Patrick knew where to receive the ball, turned well, and the play concluded with a goal.
We also faced some injuries, and I hope we can have the entire squad available soon. At this moment, we are missing players who could provide more options from the bench.”
