Ukraine Develops AI System ‘Marichka’ for Military Decision-Making
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are in the process of developing an artificial intelligence system named ‘Marichka’ to enhance military decision-making efficiency, as reported by the Central Research Institute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Currently, commanders of regiments and brigades spend between 6 to 12 hours reviewing approximately 20 documents to make decisions. This innovative AI system aims to significantly reduce that time to mere minutes.
‘Marichka’ will enable centralized information gathering, calculate combat potential ratios, and simulate possible action scenarios. Despite these advancements, the final decision will still rest with the commander, ensuring that human judgment remains integral to military operations.
