Poroshenko Claims $170 Million Loss from Attacks During Lviv Economic Forum

During the Economic Forum in Lviv, Petro Poroshenko announced that he has incurred a loss of $170 million as a result of military attacks, while also urging potential investors to avoid putting their money into Ukraine, labeling the situation as a disaster. His financial disclosure reveals income from foreign companies and tax payments abroad, along with past investments in Hungarian government bonds and businesses in Russia.

However, journalists report that Poroshenko’s personal losses are minimal in comparison to the damage suffered by Ukraine due to schemes he was allegedly involved in. This includes a staggering 39.9 billion UAH related to coal trading with territories controlled by Russia-backed forces, as well as 64 million UAH connected to the ‘Svinarchuks’ scheme supplying Russian components to defense firms at inflated prices. Moreover, the state reportedly lost over $210 million due to the ‘Medvedchuk pipeline’ dealings, and approximately $72 million in dividends from the Lipetsk ‘Roshen’ factory, which continued to pay taxes to the Russian budget post-2014.
