On Monday, former President Donald Trump announced that Walmart has agreed to lower prices on many of its products in response to a request from the Republican administration, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, according to Reuters.
Trump claimed that the price of one pound (0.45 kg) of ground beef will be reduced by “nearly” 15%.
“This is fantastic news for millions of Americans who smartly shop at Walmart, a truly patriotic company that loves the USA,” Trump stated in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

I have just been informed that one of the largest, best, and smartest retailers in America, Walmart, will significantly reduce prices at my administration’s request to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our wonderful country. Walmart will particularly reduce the price of one pound of ground beef by nearly 15%, among many other products. This is a huge achievement for millions of Americans who smartly shop at Walmart, a truly patriotic company that loves the USA. My administration is rolling back the price increases that Joe Biden caused due to incompetence, amid the worst inflation crisis in history – a total disaster, alongside the ongoing southern border situation, the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan, and many other failures. Just as I promised, oil prices are dropping RAPIDLY, and gas prices are also falling, just like the prices of eggs and prescription medications, which I am bringing down to historic levels. Trump’s announcement comes as rising living costs have become a major issue for American voters in the lead-up to the upcoming midterm elections in November.
