Murder Investigation in Ukraine Linked to Monaco Explosion

Authorities have arrested two men on charges of premeditated murder in connection with the death of a 39-year-old Ukrainian citizen, Beresovska, whose body was discovered near Kyiv on July 6. This gruesome finding follows a violent incident in Monaco on June 29 that involved an explosion targeting Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaev.
The investigation indicates that the suspects engaged in a conspiracy to murder Beresovska and are under scrutiny for their activities surrounding her return to Ukraine on July 1. Reports suggest that both men had previously transferred money to Beresovska’s bank and cryptocurrency accounts, raising suspicions about their potential involvement in the assassination attempt linked to the Monaco incident.
During the investigation, one suspect disclosed information regarding Beresovska’s murder, implicating another individual in the crime. This led law enforcement to conduct a forensic investigation which pinpointed the location of her body. The authorities are currently deliberating on the preventive custody measures for the suspects.
In a related context, Yermolaev, along with his companion Anna Nasobina and a teenage bystander, sustained injuries from the explosion, classified as an assassination attempt. The investigation into this incident and its ties to Beresovska’s murder continues as law enforcement examines the suspects’ backgrounds, including their links to Ukraine’s intelligence service.
