FCSB Suffers 0-4 Defeat Against Union St. Gilloise in Summer Friendly

FCSB experienced a tough start to their summer training camp, losing 0-4 to Union St. Gilloise in their first friendly match. Although the Romanian team is currently training in the Netherlands, they traveled to Belgium for this fixture against the team featuring Darius Olaru.

Following their decisive win, Union St. Gilloise labeled the match against FCSB as a “festival.” Darius Olaru, the former captain of FCSB, was in the starting lineup and played for 45 minutes before the team underwent a complete overhaul at halftime under coach David Hubert.

FCSB opted for an experimental formation, utilizing three central defenders: Duarte, Dawa, and Mihai Popescu. Coach Marius Baciu had no defensive midfielder, positioning Tănase and Cisotti ahead of the back line.

Belgian Reactions to Union St. Gilloise’s Victory over FCSB

“Union finishes the friendly match against FCSB with a convincing 4-0 win! After halftime, Sylla and Fuseini completed the festival. A strong performance from the boys!” was the message shared on Union St. Gilloise’s page.

“Union SG secured a convincing victory in the warm-up match against Romanian team FCSB. The squad, led by David Hubert, triumphed with a score of 4-0, thanks to goals from Massiré Sylla, Mohammed Fuseini, Mateo Biondic, and Raul Florucz.

The Union coach began the match with a lineup that included Darius Olaru, allowing him to compete against his former club. From the first half, Union SG was able to distance itself on the scoreboard, with Mateo Biondic and Raul Florucz scoring for the Belgian Cup winners, establishing a comfortable lead by halftime.

For the second half, coach David Hubert made a complete lineup change. The substitutions paid off, as Massiré Sylla and Mohammed Fuseini increased the margin, sealing a final score of 4-0 and confirming a clear victory for Union SG,” reported voetbalprimeur.be.
