Zelensky Leaves Ireland Early Amid Intelligence Warning of Russian Attack

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky departed Dublin ahead of schedule on Wednesday after receiving information about a potential large-scale attack by Russia against Ukraine, according to reports from Kyiv Post and Politico.
During a joint press conference with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin on the first day of Ireland’s presidency of the EU Council, Zelensky informed reporters of his immediate departure from Ireland.
“We know that Putin has been preparing this massive attack against Ukraine for some time,” Zelensky stated. “This evening, that is the threat we face,” he warned, urging citizens to remain vigilant regarding air raid alerts.
He expressed gratitude towards the Irish leader, noting that throughout the years of conflict, there has been consistent support from Dublin, despite the country’s longstanding military neutrality.
Kremlin Claims No Change in Peace Conditions
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov declared on Monday that Russia has not altered its stance regarding the necessary conditions for a peace agreement in Ukraine. He reiterated that President Vladimir Putin had stated in 2024 that Kiev’s forces must withdraw from the four regions that Moscow claims and publicly renounce plans to join NATO, according to Reuters.
“Our position is well-known. In fact, our stance has not changed. It was presented two years ago by our head of state in a speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he told reporters.
