Ronaldinho Signs with Ravenna FC at 46, Aims for Final Career Goal

Ronaldinho, now 46 years old, has officially signed with Ravenna FC, a club competing in Serie C. In their announcement, the Italian team highlighted the Brazilian’s main objective as he returns to high-level play, having won numerous accolades before his retirement in 2018.

The move holds symbolic significance, as Ronaldinho aims to score the final goal of his professional career while at Ravenna. He is set to join the team for pre-season training ahead of the 2026-2027 season.

Ronaldinho’s Goal: To Score His Last Professional Goal with Ravenna

According to the club’s official statement, “Ronaldinho joins Ravenna FC as a player and is one of the most significant signings in the club’s history, marking a moment that is set to propel Ravenna into the spotlight of global football.”

Beyond being a symbolic move, Ronaldinho has set a clear goal: to net his last professional goal for Ravenna, adding a deeply personal chapter to one of football’s most celebrated careers.

His arrival sends a strong message: Ravenna is building a serious project, and the Italian football culture has a new benchmark. This marks the beginning of the most fascinating chapter in the club’s early history,” the official communication stated.

Ronaldinho began his professional career at Gremio in Brazil. He has also played for major European clubs like PSG, Barcelona, and AC Milan before returning to Brazil, where he had stints with Flamengo, Atletico Mineiro, and Fluminense. His journey also includes a spell at Queretaro in Mexico. Over his career, he has made a total of 647 official appearances, scoring 235 goals and providing 181 assists.

He is a World Cup champion, a Copa America winner, a UEFA Champions League winner, and the recipient of the Ballon d’Or in 2005.

“New colors, the same smile. I can’t wait to dance with the ball again and write a new story together with Ignazio and the whole Cipriani family. Football has always been a source of joy for me, and I want to bring that same spirit to Ravenna,” stated Ronaldinho.
