Ukrainian Delegation to Conference in Poland Led by Svyrydenko

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will not attend the upcoming conference in Poland, according to reports from Polish media. Instead, Prime Minister Iryna Svyrydenko will head the Ukrainian delegation.
- Business leaders from Ukraine;
- Heads of state-owned companies;
- Representatives from communities across the country;
- Government officials and parliamentarians.
She highlighted that numerous events of varying levels are planned, aimed at strengthening Ukraine, Poland, and all Ukrainian partners within Europe.
“Our team has a clear task – to achieve specific agreements that will bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities, enhance resilience, and expand economic cooperation with partners. We expect to sign several significant agreements with international partners, particularly regarding the fortification of our energy sector,” added the Prime Minister.
Context
- The conference in Gdańsk is set to be one of the largest international events focused on Ukraine’s post-war recovery, with up to 5,000 participants expected, including state leaders, officials, and business representatives. A delegation from the European Commission may also attend, as reported by Rzeczpospolita.
- Sources in the Polish government indicated that a few days prior, Zelensky had planned to participate, but later Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that the President had not made a final decision regarding his attendance.
- Polish President Karol Nawrocki will not attend the conference due to a “political component” unrelated to Kyiv; the event is organized by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who is a political opponent of Nawrocki.
