Antonio “Totti” Vera Carrillo Joins Chindia Târgoviște in Promotion Push

Chindia Târgoviște is making strategic moves to build a competitive team for the upcoming Liga 2 season, with the addition of central midfielder Antonio “Totti” Vera Carrillo, 24, formerly of Getafe. The club is actively seeking new signings to strengthen their roster after a dramatic loss in the promotion playoffs against Farul Constanța last month.

Chindia aims to secure a solid position to challenge for the top two spots in the upcoming season. The club recently announced that their first summer transfer was Spanish defender Xavi Estacio, 25, who will play a key role in the next season starting 2026/2027. However, Estacio was unable to participate in the playoff match against Farul.

Following Estacio’s transfer, another Spanish player, Antonio Vera Carrillo—known as Totti—has emerged as a potential signing. Totti wants his nickname featured on his playing jersey, according to reports. He transitioned through the junior ranks at Zaragoza, played for Lorca, and had a stint at Getafe, before most recently appearing for Yeclano Deportivo in Spain’s fourth tier.

During the last season, Totti recorded 31 appearances and scored one goal for Yeclano.

Chindia’s Active Summer Transfer Campaign

The club has been proactive in its summer transfer strategy, bringing in several key players to enhance their chances for the new Liga 2 season. Significant transfers include defender Xavi Estacio from Valencia, striker Valentin Dumitrache from Dinamo, and winger Marius Briceag from FC Argeș.

Xavi Estacio, a 25-year-old right-back, has international youth experience with Spain, while Valentin Dumitrache, a 23-year-old forward, has joined on a two-year contract. Marius Briceag, 34, recently concluded a successful season with FC Argeș, a surprising contender in last season’s Superliga playoffs.

Chindia Târgoviște is expected to continue with further signings, with a strong emphasis on achieving their promotion objectives for the coming season.
