Massive Drone Attack Causes Fires in Moscow, Residents Evacuate

After the attack, many fires broke out

A significant drone attack struck a Moscow oil refinery, resulting in numerous fires. Moscow’s Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that measures are being taken to address the aftermath.

Debris fell on the grounds of the “Sadovod” shopping center, causing minor damage to one of its buildings. Reports from the Russian publication Astra indicate that dense smoke has enveloped the Russian capital.

Video footage showcasing the damage and fires has been shared by the monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+.

“Everything is burning, all of Moscow is on fire! All the factories are burning! I’m getting the hell out of here! Damn it! […] They are shooting at us, drones are flying overhead!” lamented a local resident.

The OSINT channel “Dnipro Osint (Garbuz)” has pinpointed the geolocation of fire hotspots following the drone assault on the Moscow refinery, noting several fire outbreaks and at least one tank explosion visible in the released videos.

  • This marks the second drone attack on the Moscow oil refinery within the week, with the previous one occurring on June 16.
  • Located in Kapotnya, approximately 15 kilometers from the Kremlin, the refinery supplies around 40% of Moscow’s fuel market and meets about 70% of the city’s and region’s gasoline needs.
