Kyiv Increases Military Support Budget by Additional 2 Billion UAH

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that the city council will review a proposal to increase funding for the “Defender of Kyiv” program by an additional 2 billion UAH to support military personnel. This announcement was made during a session intended to bolster resources for those defending the city.

Earlier this year, in January, the Kyiv City Council approved a budget increase of 3 billion UAH for defense and security forces, initiated by Klitschko. These funds are allocated for the procurement of drones, electronic warfare systems, vehicles, and other essential equipment for military units.

In total, the capital has allocated over 12 billion UAH for military assistance in 2025, marking the highest amount among all regions of Ukraine, as reported by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
