Gigi Becali's 10 million euro church was consecrated! How his wife made an appearance + the hottest pictures
Gigi Becali (67 years old), the patron of the FCSB, lived an extremely important moment on Sunday morning on the day when the church he built near Pipera, in Voluntari, his most important investment, of approximately 10 million euros, which has been worked on for years, was consecrated.
The event began at 8:00 a.m., the consecration of the place of worship being carried out by the Most Reverend Father Varlaam Ploieșteanul. At the moment, the construction of the church is not completely finished, work is still being done on the exterior, as evidenced by the scaffolding that has not yet been dismantled.
After this ceremony, religious services can be held in the church. The full groundbreaking ceremony, which will mark the full completion of the work, will take place in about two years.
“On June 14, there is the consecration. But it is the small consecration. It is not the consecration. The consecration is done in order to have the Holy Liturgy. The big one, the consecration, will be done in two years. (no, there will be 2000-3000 people) It is possible. I am preparing. The idea of the church erected in Voluntari came in 2008, when Gigi Becali promised before a match with Galatasaray, in the Champions League, that he would build a church if he qualified in the group stage. Two decades later, it would be completed.
Construction began in 2020. The church is 11 meters high, the main body, 40 meters including the cross, 35 meters long and 20 meters wide, with a basement of 3.6 meters.
On Saturday, at the sanctification event, more than 100 believers were present with Gigi Becali.
Inside the place of worship, only family members and relatives had access, where the service took place, while the faithful watched the ceremony from outside, from an improvised tent, on a large screen located in the yard.
Among those present are Adrian Iencsi, as well as Teia Sponte. And the wife of the landowner from Pipera made her appearance. Former referee Alexandru Tudor, a close friend of Becali, also came to the event.
As an element of detail, it should be noted that the floral elements prepared for Saturday's consecration were made in the shape of a cross.
