Flood in northern Armenia: due to heavy rains, the Debed River overflowed its banks. Roads are flooded, bridges are collapsing. According to local media, a man died – he was unable to get out of the sinking car. By this moment, 232 people had been evacuated.
The disaster hit the Lori region the hardest. Thus, in the city of Alaverdi, a gas filling station exploded due to a short circuit. The country's Ministry of Internal Affairs reports: a bridge in the region was destroyed, and a section of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi road was flooded. Two crossings and several residential buildings were completely submerged. The M6 ​​highway, which connects Armenia with Georgia, is closed in both directions. There is a state of emergency in the region.
