An armed attack took place near the base that the England national team chose for the World Championship. Nine people were injured and taken to hospital, but their lives were not in danger.

During the World Championship, the England team will be camped in the Swope Soccer Village sports complex in Kansas City, Missouri.

Today, just a few miles from the sports complex there was an armed attack resulting in 9 victims.

Police responded after gunshots were reported. Nine people were injured and arrived at the hospital with minor injuries, writes The Athletic. Law enforcement is looking for the perpetrator.
