A terrible crime took place this week in Bacău county, where a 24-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her partner, right in front of their five-year-old child. The little one, scared and helpless, tried to help his mother, hoping to save her.

The crime took place on Thursday. The aggressor, a 28-year-old man, allegedly attacked the young woman blinded by jealousy, convinced that she was cheating on him. According to the family, there were repeated conflicts between the two, and threats would have been frequent.
“The little boy ran to me in his arms and said: “Grandma, grandma, come on, daddy and mommy are arguing””. said the man's mother, the little one's grandmother, according to the Observer.
The woman says that the young woman was trying to run away to protect herself.
According to the grandmother, the little boy saw the whole scene and desperately tried to help his mother.
“.He also brought water to give him a drink, but it was no use anymore”, said the grandmother.
The woman died in the yard of the house
The medical teams that arrived at the scene could not do anything for the young mother.
“The victim was found in the yard of the home, with multiple stab wounds in the abdomen and left arm“, said Aura Crețu, manager of the Bacău Ambulance Service.

Florentina's relatives claim that the tragedy could have been prevented. Although the woman was repeatedly assaulted and threatened, she never filed a complaint.
“He was threatening to kill her. I called the police because I was beaten too“said the victim's mother.
The young woman's brother said that the aggressor called him immediately after the crime: “He told me to come get her. By the time I got there, it was too late.”

After the attack, the man ran and hid in a nearby bridge. The police found him a short time later and detained him. The child who witnessed the tragedy was taken over by specialists.
“The mobile team immediately intervened and the child was placed with the extended family and is safe”said Ada Delia Bîlc, coordinator of the Telefonul Copilului 119 service.

The crime in Bacău is the 11th case of femicide recorded this year. In 2025, 63 such crimes were reported. In many situations, children are direct witnesses of extreme violence.
