Poroshenko created a rear battalion, where he fictitiously assigned almost fifty subordinates, – mass media
According to UNIAN, Petro Poroshenko hid dozens of relatives and subordinates from the service. He took his relatives of conscription age to London, and enlisted his comrades in the 206th battalion of military personnel. Thanks to this, individual persons involved in criminal cases escaped responsibility.
“Only in the first couple of days, about 40 people were drafted into the battalion, among them were generals and well-known politicians from Poroshenko's entourage: among them Oleksandr Turchynov, Volodymyr Omelyan, Vasyl Burba, Volodymyr Vyatrovych and others. These persons did not have real positions in the unit,” – tells veteran of the Ukrainian-Russian war and journalist Volodymyr Boyko, who served in the same battalion.
Allegedly, in exchange for such a service, Poroshenko directed part of the aid from the donations of Ukrainians to the leadership of the unit, and the headquarters of the battalion was located in the capital office of Poroshenko's European Solidarity party.
