Rostelecom is reconstructing an automated vehicle weight and dimensional control point located on the Abakan-Ak-Dovurak highway (11–12 km).

The activities will be carried out in the summer of 2026 under a state contract with the Highway Administration of the Republic of Khakassia. Weight and dimensional control is necessary to preserve the road surface from the negative impact due to transport overloaded beyond the standards.

The society will repair the section of the road, eliminating the ruts. At the road infrastructure facility, he will replace outdated electronic components and configure equipment to ensure the accuracy of measurements of the weight and dimensions of heavy vehicles. Traffic in the area will not be stopped during the work period.

“The point has been operating around the clock for several years in all weather conditions, providing effective control of passing vehicles. The location for its placement was not chosen by chance – it is a busy regional highway that connects Khakassia and Tyva. Given the high traffic intensity, the time has come to update the road surface and technical equipment,” explained Denis Zinoviev, deputy director of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Rostelecom.

The complex will be installed in 2022. It is equipped with special road sensors and a system of laser scanners that automatically weigh cars and determine their dimensions while driving. The post is also equipped with digital cameras that recognize registration numbers, speed, and cases of driving into the oncoming lane or onto the side of the road in automatic mode.

If violations are detected, information is transmitted via Rostelecom’s secure communication channels to the center for automated recording of administrative offenses of Rostransnadzor in the Siberian Federal District. Technology helps monitor compliance with legislation to prevent overloading and protect road surfaces from premature wear.

“In a short construction season, the Company will bring this road section to standard condition, reconstruct the weight and dimensional control point and ensure high quality of work – this is our common priority,” noted Alexander Solovyov, Deputy Director for Video Recording of Traffic Violations and Highway Safety of the Khakasavtodor State Public Institution.
