The supreme court revoked the judicial review for the son and grandson of Horațiu Potra. The two can leave Romania

The judges of the Supreme Court decided, on Tuesday, to revoke the measure of judicial control in the case of the son and grandson of the mercenary Horațiu Potra, in the file in which the former candidate for the presidential elections Călin Georgescu is also on trial, according to Agerpres.
Following this decision, Dorian Potra and Alexandru Potra get rid of all the prohibitions they had under the measure of judicial control, including the prohibition to leave the territory of Romania.
“Admits the appeals declared by the defendants Potra Dorian and Potra Alexandru-Cosmin against the decision of May 20, 2026, issued by the Bucharest Court of Appeal, in file No. 6008/2/2025/a5. Dismisses the contested decision and by rejudging: revokes the measure of judicial control ordered against the defendants Potra Dorian and Potra Alexandru-Cosmin by the decision of 02.04.2026 by the ICCJ in file no. 6008/2/2025/a1.12, the court's decision states.
The two were under judicial control from April 2, after previously spending five months in pretrial detention and house arrest.
Instead, the Supreme Court decided that Horațiu Potra should remain in preventive detention, he being the only one of the group who is still behind bars.
Escorted from Dubai
In November 2025, Horațiu Potra, his son and grandson were brought under escort from Dubai, where they had gone to escape the case in which they are accused of serious crimes for destabilizing Romania.
Later, Horațiu Potra was sent to court by the General Prosecutor's Office for attempting to commit actions against the constitutional order, non-compliance with the regime of arms and ammunition, non-compliance with the regime of explosive materials, any operations with pyrotechnic articles carried out without right and public instigation, together with 20 other mercenaries from his group, in the same file in which the former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu is being tried.
The trial is in the preliminary chamber phase.
Prosecutors claim that Horațiu Potra and his group of mercenaries aimed to infiltrate the protests organized immediately after the annulment of the December 2024 elections in order to create chaos.
The action plan would have been drawn up by Călin Georgescu and his associates during a meeting that took place at a farm in Ciolpani, immediately after the cancellation of the presidential elections.
