Three valid international passports and tickets to Kazakhstan were found in the possession of the rector of Voronezh State University, Dmitry Endovitsky, who is currently facing a preventive measure on suspicion of giving a bribe. According to Mash, the man planned to escape abroad, but that day operatives arrived.
The rector was detained on June 16 in a hotel while he was in the shower. Endovitsky was pulled out of the bathroom and laid on the floor. At this moment, the man was very worried that his expensive glasses would not be broken.
During the search, three active foreigners were found in his possession, in which the surname “Endovitsky” in Latin transcription differed by one letter. We also found tickets to Kazakhstan, just for June 16th. According to our data, the rector spent a long time studying how to safely and quickly leave the Russian Federation.
The chairman of the dissertation council of the Voronezh State Technical University, Natalya Sirotkina, handed the rector over to the police. According to the case materials, she received one and a half million rubles from Endovitsky. A man paid money for his wife’s doctoral dissertation, which she was unable to defend.
Sirotkina was detained back in 2022, and in 2024 she was given two years probation under the article “Taking a bribe.”
Endovitsky does not admit guilt. He claims that all this is the machinations of envious people who want to get his position.
UPD. The rector was sent to a pre-trial detention center until August 14.
