Anamaria Prodan, the famous impresario and ex-wife of Laurentiu Reghecampf, commented on the appointment of Marius Baciu on the technical bench of FCSB, after Gigi Becali announced that the former player of Stella will have a monthly salary of 10,000 euros.
Gigi Becali confirmed Marius Baciu in the position just before the Hermannstadt – FCSB 2-0 match, and the club made the move official a day later.
What Anamaria Prodan said after signing Baciu: “Do your job as a coach!”
The impresara was critical of both the salary and the way Baciu could manage the relationship with the players:
“I don't think he has 10,000 (Euro number). My opinion! If I were the president of Stella (FCSB number), I would argue with Gigi Becali not to give it to him. Why? Because you have to show something. These jumps over stages did a lot of harm to Romanian football.
Asked if Baciu's past as a TV analyst, who criticized the Bucharest players on many occasions, could affect the relationship with the players, Prodan explained:
“Yes, of course. Players never forget. They do not forget the criticism of the boss, let alone one who has nothing to do with them. I believe that if you are a coach, do your job as a coach! If you go, you're an analyst and you criticize, one day you'll end up at one of the teams you criticize. And the players will “eat” you”, said Anamaria Prodan, according to prosport.ro.
Marius Baciu, the new FCSB coach
Baciu played for Steaua between 1996 and 2002, collecting 140 matches and 8 goals, despite the defensive role. He was captain during a period of rebuilding the team and won 3 titles of champion of Romania (1996-1997, 1997-1998, 2000-2001) and a Romanian Cup (1999).
As a coach, Baciu went to several teams from Romania and abroad: Voința Sibiu, Pandurii Târgu Jiu, Unirea Alba Iulia, Silvania Șimleu Silvaniei, CSMS Iași, FC Vaslui (second), SC Bacău, Academica Argeș / FC Clinceni, Concordia Chiajna, Daco-Getica Bucharest / Juventus Bucharest, Turris Turnu Măgurele, Sohar, Al-Taqadom and FC Păușești-Otăsău.
