Daniel Pancu, the technician from CFR Cluj, spoke about his contractual situation, about the interest from some foreign clubs, but also about a possible return to the technical bench of Rapid.
Wanted by Rapid, but also by several Turkish clubs, Pancu admitted that his future is still uncertain, although he is under contract with the Gruia team.
Daniel Pancu, about the situation at CFR Cluj: “I have no idea if I will stay”
The technician spoke about the uncertainty surrounding his stay at CFR Cluj and about the internal discussions in the club.
“The idea is that it's quite complicated for me too, I still have a contract, I have a termination clause, we can't say that we clap our hands and left CFR Cluj, you know very well what I want and I think it's normal what I want. A team like Rapid benefits from all the conditions I'm talking about. I was in the worst conditions at Rapid, and now, if I came back, it would be the best, and that's how things are in life and that's what karma is.
It is mandatory to work with a sports director if you ask me, but I don't really see sports directors in Romania. I don't know Cadu, he's here, but I don't know him.”
Daniel Pancu: “I've been talking with Angeles for a long time”
The technician spoke about an interest from abroad, stating that the discussions are still at a preliminary level and that no club has been communicated to him, only the contractual conditions and the team profile being discussed.
“Two days ago I had contact, a serious person, he didn't tell me about the club, he asked me about the claims, I didn't even tell him the claims until the club told me. Not necessarily financially, that wasn't the problem. It's not about the money, it's about the demands of the team. In Turkey, if you go to a small team, the chances of exceeding 3 months are minimal, big teams change coaches much less often than small teams. With Mirel (nr. Pancu also commented on a possible return to Rapid, stressing that he did not receive any concrete offer.
“I spoke with Mr. Șucu only once in my life, I was a selector for the national youth team and I met in Turkey at a game of Rapid. I've been talking with Angeles for a long time, we've known each other for 7-8 years, if they made any move they made it to my manager.
