Jannik Sinner (24, ATP No. 1) and Casper Ruud (27, ATP No. 25) play tonight in the grand final of the Rome Masters. The game is scheduled to start at 18:00, it will be liveTEXT on GSP.ro and on TV on Digi Sport 2.

The world leader reached the final after eliminating Daniil Medvedev (30 years old, #9 ATP), score 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, at the end of a game that started on Friday and ended on Saturday, due to unfavorable weather conditions.

On the other side, Ruud denied the locals a 100% Italian final right on the court of the Foro Italico, eliminating Luciano Darderi in the first semi-final, score 6-1, 6-1.

Sinner and Ruud have faced each other 5 times, the balance of previous “direct” being stinging for the Scandinavian: 5-0 for Jannik!

The last time they met was also in Rome, in the quarters of the 2025 edition. Sinner won briefly then, at the end of a match in which he lost only one game 6-0, 6-1.

Jannik Sinner wants to be champion at home

Jannik Sinner never won the trophy in Rome. He came close in 2025 when he was defeated in the last act by Carlos Alcaraz. The Italian hopes that fate will be in his favor on Sunday in his seventh appearance at the Masters at home in Rome.

Obviously I'm very happy. It is a very special tournament for me and for us Italians. I'm very happy to be in the final again. But mentally, I know that tomorrow (not today) will be a tough match. Finals are always very different. Anyway, I'm happy to be in the final again. We'll see what happens.

I had a little trouble sleeping last night. It was a situation I had never experienced before, where everything stops when the match is almost over. Sleep, not knowing what the next day has in store for you. Yes, I think it's normal not to feel 100% every day. I tried to play with the best energy possible and that helped me wake up today. Today I am very happy to have finished.
