A Krasnoyarsk resident came under investigation after insulting members of the “Immortal Regiment” (video)

A criminal case was opened against a 34-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk, who insulted participants in the Immortal Regiment march.

According to investigators, on May 9, a man, while with a child in the village of Nikolskoye, Yemelyanovsky district, filmed on his phone a patriotic event in which local residents participated, and commented on itat times offensive in nature, including obscene language. He subsequently distributed the video on the Internet.
Investigators detained a suspect the day before. He admitted everything and apologized for his actions.

The man's actions were classified as a crime under Part 4 Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (insult to the memory of defenders of the Fatherland, committed in public). They can be punished for thistraffic in the amount of 2 to 5 million rubles, or forced labor, or imprisonment for up to 5 years.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexey Eremin, to submit a report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case and the established circumstances.
