Krasnoyarsk residents were reminded of their rights and responsibilities when going to the movies

14 May 18:20

The regional Office of Rospotrebnadzor reminded Krasnoyarsk residents what rights viewers have in cinemas and in what cases visitors may be denied service.

The department explained that relations between cinemas and viewers are regulated by the law “On the Protection of Consumer Rights”, the federal law “On the Protection of Children from Information Harmful to Their Health and Development”, as well as the rules for the provision of services for showing films.

Cinemas are required to provide viewers with complete information about screenings in advance. We are talking about the name of the film, age restrictions, start time and duration of the show, ticket prices, layout of the hall, the presence of subtitles or audio commentaries, as well as discounts and additional services.

In addition, the operating rules of cinema halls and the procedure for admitting children should be posted in the box office area and on the cinema website, if there is one. As noted by Rospotrebnadzor, the film must be shown regardless of how many spectators come to the screening. Even if there is only one person sitting in the hall, the show should not be cancelled.

Viewers also have the right to a refund for a ticket in the event of cancellation or postponement of a show, replacement of a film, poor quality of screening or lack of information about age restrictions.

For inquiries and complaints, the cinema must have a book of reviews and suggestions, as well as indicate an email or postal address for complaints.

At the same time, visitors must observe public order, the rules of operation of cinema halls and keep the ticket until the end of the show.

A cinema has the right to refuse to provide services only in case of violation of order, disregard of established rules or damage to property.
