The 53-year-old commander of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft that crashed near Kolomna, Evgeniy Bulavko, worked for NordStar Airlines before Gazprom-Avia. The man is married, lived in Mytishchi. The pilot is a graduate of the St. Petersburg University of Civil Aviation.
Along with Bulavko, co-pilot Vladislav Kharlamov and steward Maxim Lukmanov were on board the crashed plane. All three died.
