Shakira will perform again at the World Cup. The Colombian artist has officially announced that the song “Dai Dai” (which in Italian means “come on”, although Italy will not be present at the final tournament) will be the anthem of the competition organized in the United States, Mexico and Canada in the 2026 edition.
The song will be released on May 14, and the announcement was made by Shakira herself through a video posted on social media.

In the images published online, Shakira appears on the famous Maracana, dressed in a yellow top and a blue skirt, alongside several dancers and soccer balls.

The artist interprets fragments of the new song “Yes Yesi”, a mix between reggaeton and Afrobeats influences.
The lyrics of the song convey a message about identity: “You from the day you were born / here in the space you belong… what broke you once, made you strong” (“You've been this way since you were born / this is where you belong… what once broke you made you stronger”).
Shakira, the third song for the World Cup
It is the third time that Shakira has collaborated with FIFA for a World Cup.
The debut of the artist at a World Championship took place in 2006, at the closing ceremony in Berlin, where she performed a special version of the song “Hips Don't Lie“, alongside Wyclef Jean.
In 2010, the artist released the famous “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)“, became one of the most famous anthems in the competition's history, at the tournament won by the Spanish national team. The song then reached No. 2 on the Billboard Latin charts and spent 42 weeks at the top of the digital Latin music sales chart.
Four years later, at the World Cup in Brazil, Shakira returned with “La La La (2014)”, performed during the closing ceremony at the Maracana stadium, before the grand final.
