The relatives of the man who disappeared with him assume that he ate him, they filed a lawsuit against the Mexican for a million dollars.
It all happened back in 2012, when two fishermen were caught in a storm and drifted across the Pacific Ocean, trying to survive. One of them died of exhaustion, the second was saved 15 months later and wrote a book about it.
Now the second fisherman's family claims Alvarenga ate his comrade to survive. He denied the accusations and said that he and his partner agreed not to do this, and later successfully passed a lie detector test.
