The officials of the national team of Mexico decided to organize a training camp for the players playing in the domestic championship. The training camp was scheduled for May 6, which is outside FIFA's official periods dedicated to national teams and overlaps with the final phase of the Mexican league. This decision caused consternation in Mexican football, but also in the offices of the most important clubs in the country, especially because the Federation also moved to threats.

Officials in Mexico have decided to start a training camp with players from the domestic league as early as now, although the domestic league is in full swing. No fewer than 12 players, according to international media, are affected by the decision, with players from Europe expected to join the training camp after finishing the championships in which they play. The idea of this training camp is to give coach Javier Aguirre more time to prepare the players.

Strange decision by Mexico: “Any player who does not show up for the training camp will miss the World Championship”

Some players are faced with a crucial decision. The Mexican Football Federation issued an unequivocal statement. “Any player who does not report to the national team's training center on Wednesday will miss the World Championship,” the federation's clear statement read, according to sport.aktuality.sk.

The clubs Toluca and Chivas face the biggest complications. The players from these teams, who received a call-up from coach Javier Aguirre, have an important choice to make: they miss an important phase of the championship, namely the play-off, or they compromise their chance to perform at the World Championship for the national team or even possible future call-ups.

Club Toluca requested on Tuesday the management of the federation to leave the players with the club team to settle their accounts at the end of the season. The request was rejected outright and considered a breach of a previous agreement.
