Troops of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation attacked the railway infrastructure in the Kharkov, Poltava and Dnepropetrovsk regions of Ukraine. Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Development of Communities and Territories Alexey Kuleba announced this on May 5 in Telegram.
In the Kharkov region today at approximately 7.30 a UAV attacked and destroyed a carriage. There were no casualties. The monitoring center was activated, thanks to which the conductor moved to the mobile shelter in time. The locomotive crew was also secured.
In the Poltava region, a drone fell between the tracks next to a diesel locomotive. No casualties. The carriage was damaged and a fire resulted from the explosion.
Also, during a UAV attack on a station in the Dnepropetrovsk region, an electric locomotive that was standing on the tracks was damaged.
The workers were in hiding because the train was stopped in advance due to the threat of a drone attack.
“Even under these conditions, we protect people. The railway is working. The movement continues,” Kuleba wrote.
