Former Moscow government minister Alexander Kibovsky, who headed the department of culture, was detained.
According to Mash, he is suspected of two articles of the Criminal Code – taking a bribe and fraud on an especially large scale. The Investigative Committee has already sent a petition to the court to arrest the ex-official.
Under Kibovsky, a program for preserving the cultural heritage of the capital appeared in Moscow. He was also the head of the Moscow branch of the Russian Military Historical Society. For his work he received the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree, the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh, III degree, and the Holy Blessed Prince Daniel of Moscow, III degree, as well as a certificate of honor from the President of the Russian Federation.
