Analysts of the e-petrol.pl portal leave no doubt in their Wednesday comment: The unfavorable situation at stations is a direct result of the rising prices of crude oil and basic fuel prices on global markets.
Although special regulations are in force to protect the domestic market against the effects of conflicts in the Middle East, the momentum of the increases turned out to be too strong.
Rapid increases at gas pumps
In recent days, the scale of increases has been exceptionally severe. 95-octane petrol increased in price by an average of 24 cents, while diesel by as much as 34 cents per liter.
“The current, unfavorable market situation for refueling customers is the result of the increase in crude oil prices and basic fuel prices in the second half of the month.” – indicate e-petrol.pl experts.

The government sets fuel prices. That's how much you'll pay now
In response to the dynamic situation, the Minister of Energy issued an appropriate announcement. According to the new guidelines, from Thursday, prices at gas stations should not exceed certain limits:
- Gasoline 95: maximum PLN 6.28/l
- Gasoline 98: maximum PLN 6.77/l
- Diesel: maximum PLN 7.14/l
Although the government limits provide some breathing room and set an upper limit on prices, for many drivers they still mean the most expensive May weekend in years.
