Manchester United beat Brentford 2-1 in the 34th round of the Premier League and consolidate their position of third, which ensures the presence in the main phase of the Champions League.
After the success achieved ten days ago at Chelsea, score 1-0, Manchester United ticked off their second consecutive victory in the championship and now have an 11-point lead over Brighton, the first team below the line of the Champions League places.

The hosts opened the scoring quickly in the 11th minute. After a Bruno Fernandes corner, Harry Maguire headed in and Casemiro finished from close range, leaving Kelleher with no chance.
Brentford reacted and went on the attack, creating several dangerous situations. Igor Thiago came close to scoring on two occasions, but hesitated in the decisive moments and failed to finish.
The moment that decided the game followed. On the counter-attack, the visitors' defense gave way, and Bruno Fernandes provided an excellent pass to Benjamin Sesko, who made the score 2-0 (minute 43).
In the second half, the “red devils” controlled the pace of the game. Brentford tried to come back and apply pressure, but could not find solutions in front of a well organized defence.
The visitors' goal came late on in the 87th minute when Mathias Jensen reduced the deficit with a shot from distance. But it was too late for a comeback.
With this success, Manchester United reach 61 points and remain in 3rd place, while Brentford are in 9th place with 48 points and keep hopes of qualifying for European cups.
In the next stage, Manchester United will receive the visit of Liverpool, while Brentford will play at home against West Ham.
