Over the last few weeks, there have been a series of attacks in London – mainly arson and attempted arson – on facilities associated with the Jewish community. Some of these cases are being investigated by counter-terrorism officers, although police say they are not currently treating them as terrorist acts.

The British authorities warned that hostile countries may try to carry out this type of attacks, using as intermediaries local criminal groups or individual people who are ready to do it for – usually small – money.

“I am increasingly concerned that some countries are using proxies to carry out attacks in this country,” he said after meeting with members of the Jewish community at the Kenton United synagogue, which was targeted by an arson attack on Saturday. – We have to deal with hostile state actors – he emphasized, adding that this will require the government to introduce appropriate regulations.

A bottle containing a flammable liquid thrown through a window caused only minor smoke damage to one of the interior rooms. Two teenagers were arrested in connection with the incident – one of them, a 17-year-old boy, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to arson that was not life-threatening.

– I want this country to be a place where everyone feels safe. This is not just a fight of the Jewish community. This is our fight. The Britain I want is one where people can practice their religion and profess their faith in security, Starmer said. (PAP)
