“It was the end of the season at Concordia Chiajna. We had a match at Piatra Neamț. As far as I knew, I was supposed to be a starter in that match, but I was a reserve. It's not a problem, I've been through these things before. All week I had problems with my back, not that I couldn't train, but I was embarrassed. I used massages, treatments, injections.

At halftime, when I had to go to the warm-up, I had a pain attack. I couldn't actually walk anymore! As a fair boy that I am, I went to announce, so as not to waste a change and drag the team down, because I couldn't play. I notified the second coach, he went to Dica, he didn't say anything. I sat on the chair, barely getting up. I was in a lot of pain, I think I had injections during the break. The match ended 1-1″, said Petre.

He reports that Dica would not have believed him: “When he entered the locker room, the first thing he said was: “From today, Adi Petre has nothing to do in my team, he goes to the second team”. When you couldn't beat Piatra Neamț, who entered the field with the juniors, you come to tell me that from today I have nothing to look for in the team… I was shocked! He seemed to understand that I had problems, he didn't say anything to me during the break, everything was OK…

I usually don't comment, I don't like to get into conflict. I know that if I go in I get a headache and I end up saying things that I regret. I can't manage my nerves, I get black before my eyes. And then I blacked out. It was the first time in my football career that I saw black when I was talking to a coach.”

“Spell, you didn't want to play!” vs. “You are dust, you know nothing!”

Petre confesses that he reacted violently and offended the technician: “I asked him what the problem was, and Dică accused me: “You say you don't want to play, you're telling me that your back hurts. There is no such thing, you didn't want to play». I felt bad for everything. I went, I ate, I put it aside…

I started talking badly: “That's why everyone kicks you out after 2-3 months everywhere, because you're dust, you don't know anything, you're zero!”. I punched around there, I cursed the club, everyone. I left the dressing room, he kept commenting…”.

I said it: the footballer Dica was one of my idols. He was the best, I had a shirt with him. I grew up with Steaua, with his Champions League goals. As a coach, on the other hand, how he handled my situation…

Gabi Tamaș's conclusion: “You could beat Dică, but don't curse the club!”

Gabi Tamaș was sports director at Chiajna. He fined Adi Petre not because of his speech to Dică, but because he cursed the club.

“The next day I was sorry for swearing at the club. Gabi Tamaș told me: “If you beat Dica, I wouldn't get angry, I wouldn't even give you a fine. But now I have to fine you, because you cursed the club»“, it's Adi Petre's version.

“I have 3 hernias and Dica makes me a liar!”

Petre declared in the summer of 2025 that “I went for an MRI and found out that I have 3 hernias in my spine. That's why I haven't been able to do more in recent years, to keep up with the preparations and the intensity.”

Precisely for this reason he was outraged by Dică's reply: “You make me a liar, even though you know I have back problems. That I don't want to play an innings with Piatra Neamt?! I really wanted to play, that's why I was injecting myself. If I didn't want to play, I didn't come all the way to Piatra Neamț, I stayed at home”.
