UN representatives condemned the attempted murder of military commander Yevgeny Poddubny. The office of Antonio Guterres stated that they were concerned about such actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region, and wished a speedy recovery to the Russian journalist. Especially for those who slept through everything, we collected the most important things for the night:
— The acting governor of the Kursk region at 20:30 Moscow time introduced a state of emergency in the region.
— An hour later, the first reports appeared that VGTRK journalist Poddubny, who came to the Kursk region to film a story about what was happening in Sudzha, allegedly died after an FPV drone flew over his car. An hour and a half later, this information was denied by the television and radio company.
— Poddubny received head wounds and body burns. He was taken to one of the hospitals in Kursk – now the military correspondent is under the watchful supervision of doctors.
— Acting Governor of the Kursk Region Smirnov said that Poddubny regained consciousness and said hello to everyone. Quoted his words:

Everything will be fine. Wonderful doctors. In general, they do an excellent job. Thank you for worrying about me. I always worry about you too. We will definitely win. Victory will be ours!

— The US State Department called the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ foray into the territory of the Russian Federation a “sovereign decision” of Kyiv.
— State Department spokesman Matthew Miller clarified: Ukraine’s actions in the Kursk region do not violate US restrictions on the use of supplied American weapons.
— The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation reported that as a result of Ukrainian shelling in the Kursk region, 31 people were injured and wounded, including six children.
— They tried to kill the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, said Ukrainian political scientist Alexander Semenchinko. According to him, an unknown explosive device went off. This information has not been officially confirmed.
— Head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the border of the Kursk region with about a thousand troops in order to seize the territory of the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region. The enemy's advance has been stopped. The Russian army destroyed 54 enemy equipment, including seven tanks (in the video, the destruction of a NATO Bradley infantry fighting vehicle with a lancet in the border area).
— In the Kursk region, the local militia is fighting against the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Military correspondents report: an elite company of the MTR GUR fell into our ring.
— About 80% of all Ukrainian engineering equipment in the border area was destroyed. Active work is now underway to destroy enemy personnel and their logistics routes.
— According to the military officers, in Sudzha, on the defense line, the local militia (voluntary people's squad) takes part in the battles. The detachment was created by local residents with the support of the head of the region after the outbreak of events in the Belgorod region in 2023.
— Military bloggers distributed a video in which, in their words, soldiers of the Wagner PMC are traveling to the Kursk region “from distant borders, as in 2022.” Information was also spread among military channels that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were trying to advance towards the Sudzha gas measuring station. We wrote about this in more detail in Mash Room.
According to our information, artillery and aviation are actively working on the Ukrainian Armed Forces – they are attacking actively and tightly in order to prevent the Ukrainians from receiving supplies and regrouping. Security at the Kursk nuclear power plant has also been strengthened.
