The deposit system in Poland. Paulina Hennig-Kloska announced the record

Hennig-Kloska emphasized on RMF FM that since the launch of the system, there have been more and more reports of impressive one-off returns of packaging. The media had previously heard about a customer of Biedronka in Wrocław who returned 807 packages and received a deposit of over PLN 400.
In Lidl, the record was 920 packages, which gave the customer a refund of PLN 460. The head of the Ministry of Climate pointed out that the growing numbers show how quickly Poles are getting used to the new rules.

The system includes plastic bottles up to 3 liters, cans up to 1 liter and glass bottles up to 1.5 liters. Customers get 50 cents for plastic and cans, and 1 zloty for reusable glass bottles.

The Ministry of Climate and Environment announced that so far we have collected about 520 million packages. 53% returned packaging at least once under the deposit system. Poles – according to a study made available to PAP. At the same time, it was indicated that 65 percent respondents know what the deposit system is.

The largest age group that has already used the deposit system are people aged 45-54 (64%), while the least numerous group are people 55+ (45%). Most people returned a bottle or can at least once among residents of cities with a population of over 500,000. people (63%), and the least among rural residents – 49%.
