Terrorist attack in Turkey. A man wearing a mask with a skull print and the insignia of the Nazi 3rd SS Panzer Division “Totenkopf” attacked the Eskişehir Tepebaşı mosque. He wounded seven people with a knife and hacked one to death with an ax.
There was a police patrol nearby – they detained the incompetent. An ambulance arrived at the scene and hospitalized the victims. On social networks, locals called the attacker the “Turkish Breivik” who killed 77 people at a youth camp in Oslo.
For reference: during World War II, hundreds of Turkish citizens were in the 13th SS Volunteer Mountain Infantry Division “Hanjar” (from Turkish “short sword”). Instead of helmets, they wore national fez hats, and their distinctive sign was a hand holding the same khanjar under the swastika. In 1943, the division was blessed by the Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini.
