Netanyahu claims Israel destroyed Iran's ballistic missile program

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Saturday evening that his country “annihilated” Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs in the bombing campaign carried out against this country together with the US, a statement made while American-Iranian peace negotiations are taking place in Pakistan, reports AFP, taken by Agerpres.
“We succeeded in destroying Iran's nuclear program and destroying its missile program,” Netanyahu said in a televised speech, adding that the war against Iran had also weakened the country's leadership and its regional allies.
“They wanted to strangle us, and (now) we are the ones strangling them. They threatened us with annihilation, but now they are fighting for their survival,” the Israeli prime minister also claimed.
The bombing campaign launched on February 28 by the US and Israel against Iran was suspended on Wednesday by a two-week truce as the US and Iran seek a negotiated end to the conflict.
Despite the decimation of the country's political and military leadership following the airstrikes, the regime in Tehran continued to retaliate with drones and missiles on Israel and American interests in the area until the armistice, and shows no signs of losing power in order to make way for a regime favorable to US and Israeli interests for political and resource control.
