The Federation has rescheduled the Executive Committee that will initiate the official negotiations with Gheorghe Hagi, 61 years old, for the position of selector of romania.
The meeting of the Technical Commission of the FRF, chaired by Mihai Stoichiță, about who will take over the national team from Mircea Lucescu, took place on April 3. The members debated the profile of the future selector. No surprise: Gică Hagi was the main variant of the Commission with an advisory role. Other proposed names: Edi Iordănescu, Pancu, Rădoi, Răzvan Lucescu, Olăroiu, Mutu.
On April 8, the proposals had to be presented to the Executive Committee of the FRF. However, the CEx was postponed after the death of Mircea Lucescu from Tuesday, April 7. Then, the FRF announced that it was “suspending the process for an indefinite period”.

From GSP.ro information, The Executive Committee has been moved to next week, Thursday, April 16. During this meeting, the president of the Federation, Răzvan Burleanu, will be mandated to conduct negotiations with the final candidate, i.e. George Hagi.
In fact, Thursday's Executive Committee is just a formality. More than likely, Hagi will be the new national team coach. Răzvan Burleanu decided to hire him a long time ago.

later, after receiving the mandate, the FRF president will conduct the final negotiations with the selected candidate or candidates;

the official announcement and the presentation of the new national team selector will take place immediately after the signing of the contract documents, during a press conference, the date of which we will announce on FRF channels”.

- Christian Petrean – vice president of FRF, representative of amateur football;
- Valeriu Argăseală and Alexandru Meszar – representatives of League 1 clubs
- Bogdan Bălănescu and Cristi Tănase – representatives of the 2nd League clubs;
- Mihai Dascălescu and Florin Spînu – representatives of the 3rd League clubs;
- Alin Cioban – representative of women's football;
- Cristian Vornicu – representative of indoor football;
- Cătălin Cighir – representative of clubs with exclusive activity for children and juniors;
- Emilian Hulubei – the president of the footballers' union;
- Kyros Vassaras – CCA president;
- Mihai Stoichiță – president of the FRF Technical Commission.
