The coach of the Atletico Madrid team, Diego Simeone, spoke about Mircea Lucescu, after the death of the legendary coach.
Diego Simeone had Mircea Lucescu as a technician both at Pisa and at Inter. The Argentine evoked the special bond formed between them over the years.

“I have a great memory of him and I send my condolences to the family. I remember the time in Pisa, when I was taking my first steps in football. He would take me to dinner at his house, protect me because I was still a child,” Simeone said, according to Sky Sport.
The Argentinian technician emphasized Lucescu's human and professional qualities: “I have a special memory of the man and the coach, but the numbers speak for themselves. I also had him at Inter, a period not as good, but he was always very direct, humble, a man with a big soul.”
Real Madrid, its president and its Board of Directors deeply regret the passing of Mircea Lucescu, who was the national coach of Romania and Turkey.
