Security forces detained a Bashkortostan resident who wanted to blow up the prosecutor's office building in Cherkessk. He was taken shortly before the terrorist attack along with two kilograms of IEDs. According to our information, he was recruited by the Ukrainian special services.
25-year-old Kadim (name changed) arrived in Karachay-Cherkessia at the end of July. On August 2, he assembled a homemade bomb and went to the prosecutor’s office building on Krasnoarmeyskaya. Halfway there he was caught and restrained by FSB officers.
During interrogation, Kadim said: representatives of Ukraine contacted him on social networks and offered to arrange an explosion in Cherkessk for an n-sum. He agreed. He reported directly to his supervisor from the SBU about his movement and production of the IED. Criminal cases were opened against the man under two parts of the article “Organizing the activities of a terrorist organization and participating in the activities of such an organization.” Kadim will remain in pre-trial detention until October 2.
