The Telegraph has revealed that Argentina international Enzo Fernandez has left his Chelsea team-mates in shock with his comments about a possible move to Madrid.
Just after Chelsea's elimination from the Champions League, 2-8 on aggregate with Paris SG, Enzo Fernandez started talking about a possible departure from London.
When asked about this after the return with the French, Fernandez told ESPN: “I don't know, there are still eight games and the FA Cup. After the World Cup we will see“.
Enzo Fernandez: “I really like Madrid, it's like Buenos Aires”
The Argentina international further frustrated his teammates when he took the discussion to the next level and even talked about a possible destination. “If I had to choose a city to live in Europe, I really like Madrid. It's very similar to Buenos Aires,” he told reporters from Argentina's LuzuTV.
Moreover, The Telegraph claims that Fernandez has been increasingly vocal in the dressing room amid Chelsea's poor form, having lost their last four games in all competitions. He was even seen scolding goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, in which he lobbed a ball after a mistake by the Dane cost the Blues a chance to come back against PSG.
John Obi Mikel: “No player is bigger than the club”
This behavior began to bother not only his colleagues, especially in the context of his attempts to leave the door open to a possible transfer in the summer. Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel slammed him after the defeat to PSG and told him to “go to hell” if he is not committed to the team.
On his podcast, Obi One, he commented: “You were the captain in that match and you came out and made those statements… How could the seniors in the locker room accept such a thing?
If you're fed up, raise your hand, get the hell away and we'll move on. No player is bigger than the club, especially a club as big as Chelsea.”
